1981年のRYMトップ50アルバム。今から40年前、1981年も思えば転換期にあたる年だった。

なので、1981年はもう完全に80年代。Joy DivisionやU2にエコバニといったバンドが新しい80年代のサウンドを鳴らしている一方で、それをシカとするかのように80年代的産業ロックがどんどん売れ始めるは、MTVは始まるは。

うん、たしかにロックの拡がりへの影響というとサージェント・ペパーズだが、ロックの深みへの影響はベルベッツだね。

そんな1981年のリストは以下のとおり。

リリース年月日は本国でのもの、またクラシックとサントラは除いてある。

相当に意外なリストになっている。

いわゆるポストパンク系が多いのはやはり1981年だから。

また英米にとどまらず世界中がポスト・パンクな方向に行っていたこともわかる。
