OmniFocus for iPhone 1.6.5

えっと、なぜかOmniFocus for iPhone 1.6.5 がリリース。

OmniFocus for iPadは6月末リリースと推測されていてそちらに注力していると思っていたので、まさかfor iPhone 1.6.5がこの時期にリリースされるとは思わなかった。

Ken Caseのポストによると、マイナーアップデートとUIのブラッシュアップと同期の不具合解消ということだが、実際にはかなり使い易さが向上するマイナーアップデートだ。

さて、リリースノートは以下の通り。

インターフェイス

1. When adding a photo attachment on devices with cameras, you now have the option of picking an existing photo from your photo library.
2. OmniFocus for iPhone now starts with the same built-in perspectives as OmniFocus for Mac (such as the Completed perspective, which shows completed items grouped and ordered by completion date).
3. Installing the Safari bookmarklet no longer prompts with a redundant message.
4. Calendar notifications no longer have an unusably long prefix for German customers.

5. Fixed a problem which could cause completed projects to be reopened when an out-of-date device was synchronized.
6. If the sync database needs to be compacted, OmniFocus will automatically unregister devices which haven’t synchronized in over three weeks.

不具合

7. Fixed a bug where Settings wasn’t laying out properly after using the Compact Database button.
8. Send Feedback no longer crashes when Mail isn’t set up.
9. Fixed a spurious “Cannot Save” error which could occur when syncing old changes after creating attachments.
10. Fixed some compatibility issues with future versions of the iPhone OS.

1. は画像を添付する時に既存のフォトライブラリーから写真を選択できるようになった。なぜ今ままで出来なかったのか判らないが。
2. は起動した時にMac側と同じパースペクティブで表示されるようになった。
3. はブックマークレットは使わないので良く判らない。
4. は高校の第二外国語で挫折して以来苦手なドイツ語なのでよく判らない。
でもドイツ語のPrefixってどれもこれも無意味に長くて変な綴りだと思うぞ(笑
5〜10 はそういう事象には遭遇していないのでよく判らない。

とはいえ、1,2があるだけでもアップデートする価値があると思う。

あと問題は写真の同期。やはりデータ容量が増加するので、iDisk経由あるいは外部のWebDAVサーバー経由だと、同期に要する時間が長くなるかもしれない。Bonjourなら気にならないと思うが。

実は4月からOmniSync ServerというOmni版外部ストレージサービス(のベータ版)を使っている。
ベータ版なのでサーバーがダウンしていることがあるかもしれないし、最悪データを消失する危険もある。
だが、このSyncサーバー、かなり高速で、今回写真を何枚か添付して同期してみたが、同期に要する時間は気になるほどには遅くはならかった。
